I am not sure what it was about the writing in this book， but I just could not get interested in the characters， or the plot。 It seemed to pique my interest in the beginning with the the murders and murder scenes/investigations， but as the plot went on， I just seemed to lose interest， and not want to finish the book。 I initially was very interested in the history and back story of the American Indian tribes and geographical information， but I felt like it was a bit overkill to go so in depth wit I am not sure what it was about the writing in this book， but I just could not get interested in the characters， or the plot。 It seemed to pique my interest in the beginning with the the murders and murder scenes/investigations， but as the plot went on， I just seemed to lose interest， and not want to finish the book。 I initially was very interested in the history and back story of the American Indian tribes and geographical information， but I felt like it was a bit overkill to go so in depth with that in the book。 A little history is great， but I felt like I could write a book just about the tribe and/or land area after finishing this book。 This is the first book I have read from Heather Graham， and perhaps it would have been more beneficial to go back and read the other books in the series first， but I really wanted to give a truthful and timely review of this book， since it was graciously given to me for free to read and review。 Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing | MIRA & Netgalley for giving me this opportunity！ 。。。more

Copaganda Mars Exciting Series Finale。 If you read my review of Danger In Numbers （Book 1 of this series）， you'll see that I read this series *completely* out of order。。。 and yet it still somehow makes sense， even the way I read it。 So take that comment however you will。That noted， this was absolutely one of those tales where it seems like prior key characters are coming out of the woodwork to all join in the chase to the finale and the ultimate showdown of Good vs Evil in the Florida Everglades Copaganda Mars Exciting Series Finale。 If you read my review of Danger In Numbers （Book 1 of this series）， you'll see that I read this series *completely* out of order。。。 and yet it still somehow makes sense， even the way I read it。 So take that comment however you will。That noted， this was absolutely one of those tales where it seems like prior key characters are coming out of the woodwork to all join in the chase to the finale and the ultimate showdown of Good vs Evil in the Florida Everglades。。。 but *who is it*？ ;）The pacing was solid， the murders gruesome， the mystery good enough， but ultimately what mars this tale is what another reviewer called the "love fest" between all the police agencies involved。 Local， State， and Feds all get along perfectly （which goes against what virtually *every other source*， fictional and non， tends to say）， and worse for this former anti-police brutality activist is just how often some cop shoots someone "but was forced into it" and "didn't want to"。 Bullshit。 Police brutality is an all too real thing in this nation， and Graham exposes herself as just another Copaganda bullshit spewer that thinks that all cops are always saints and everyone in their crosshairs somehow "deserves it"， no matter what。 This leaves a very sour aftertaste to an otherwise thrilling conclusion to the series。This series had great promise， and *is* a legitimately solid enough story， particularly for those who agree with Graham's position on policing in America， but it could have been *so much more*。 Still， even with all of the Copaganda， this really was a fun read and is very much recommended。 。。。more

I did not realize this was book four in a series when I signed up for it on NetGalley。 The author does a great job of recapping what happens in the previous books and I was pulled into the plot immediately with the discovery of body parts in barrels in the Everglades。 Unfortunately， it went downhill from there and did not hold my attention enough to keep reading。 I could not connect to the characters at all。 It was a DNF for me at 20%。

The apocalypse has been stopped and the archangel has been found。 Another good story revolving around the fourth horse， the pale one。 Amy and Hunter， along with the other FDLE and FBI agents and the tribesmen worked as a team to finally solve what has been going on。 I did guess the identity of the archangel early， but wasn’t totally sure until the end。 Satisfying page-turner。

The author is a master wordsmith and wise enough to let the setting share a starring role in her latest effort。 The characters and the story have been established in previous books， which I haven’t read， but enough recap is provided to show that all fits together in this book。 I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review。

I know that this author is an established writer with many successful books to her credit， but I found this book mostly just very boring。 I more or less finished reading it， skipping long passages after the 50% mark， trying to find some action or interest; but I have a Kindle full of books waiting， so I finally just called it quits on this one。 It seems to be structurally well-written and will probably appeal to readers who like this kind of novel。

Dead bodies are turning up in large numbers in the Everglades， and the predators responsible are human。Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent Amy Larson has been loaned to the FBI to partner with agent Hunter Forrest to investigate a string of crimes that are linked to the Book of Revelation， the Apocalypse and the Four Horseman。 The first three Horseman have been identified， captured and locked up， but it looks like the final Horseman has turned up in Florida。 When parts of a woman’s body Dead bodies are turning up in large numbers in the Everglades， and the predators responsible are human。Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent Amy Larson has been loaned to the FBI to partner with agent Hunter Forrest to investigate a string of crimes that are linked to the Book of Revelation， the Apocalypse and the Four Horseman。 The first three Horseman have been identified， captured and locked up， but it looks like the final Horseman has turned up in Florida。 When parts of a woman’s body are spotted by a tourist in the Everglades， investigators are sent it and soon discover several oil drums full of dismembered human bodies。 This is not the work of the alligators or other other animal predators who call the Everglades home; these people were killed by human hands。 To find out who is behind these killings Larson， Forrest and an array of local and federal investigators will have to find out who the victims were and how they are linked。Ties to a political movement are discovered， but it will take the best efforts of all involved to find out who is behind the brutal deaths， and what the end game will be。The Reaper Follows is fittingly the fourth in this Larson/Forrest series， and as such there are many fans who will pick this up eagerly to see the conclusion to the saga。 I have read more than a few of Heather Graham’s other books， although none of the preceding titles in this series。， and have enjoyed them。 The action has always moved the story along， there is some romance mixed in with the action， and generally a bit of humor as well。 In this book， the reader learns a lot about the history of the Native American tribes of Florida ， and I certainly found the information interesting。 Larson and Forrest have expanded their partnership beyond the professional， and there may be a romance brewing elsewhere on the team to boot。 I was disappointed overall in this novel， however。 The plot didn’t move along all that quickly， slowed in part perhaps by the lengthy discussions of that history。 I found that the writing in general was not up to Ms Graham’s usual standards， lots of word repetition and dialogue far lengthier than the situations dictated。 I don’t think that my not having read the previous books influenced my feelings about this book…。I was easily able to figure out the relationships between characters and the overall picture of the criminal work that had preceded the current string of deaths。 I also guessed pretty early on who was likely behind the crime， which didn’t help。 Fans of Ms Graham will undoubtedly read this latest offering， especially those who have read the earlier books in the series， but for those who haven’t I can only recommend it with reservations。 My thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/MIRA for allowing me access to an early copy of The Reaper Follows。 。。。more

This book is a must read if you have read the other 3 books in this series first。 The other books setup the premise of murder and mayhem connected to a deluded person using the 4 Horseman for personal gain。 This book brings us to the final horseman and mastermind。 The mastermind in this story is genius manipulator who twists the very real events of the world to sway the others to his cause。 Our protagonists， Amy and Hunter， introduced in book 1 work with an ever-expanding team to thwart the mast This book is a must read if you have read the other 3 books in this series first。 The other books setup the premise of murder and mayhem connected to a deluded person using the 4 Horseman for personal gain。 This book brings us to the final horseman and mastermind。 The mastermind in this story is genius manipulator who twists the very real events of the world to sway the others to his cause。 Our protagonists， Amy and Hunter， introduced in book 1 work with an ever-expanding team to thwart the mastermind and stop the Apocalypse。 This story might be a little fantastical， but the premise could be ripped from the headlines with a suave person manipulating those looking for their place in the world。 The characters take events that are frightening and could be very real and humanize them especially Amy。 She is tough， almost fearless and empaths with others working herself to exhaustion。 Hunter has found a way to pay it forward having escaped a cult with the help of the FBI。 Together， they are a fabulous team。 Aiden， Sabrina， Mickey， and the others are more fleshed out in this story and play a huge part in the conclusion。 The action in this book takes place in the Everglades adding another level of danger as more than human predators lurk there。 The first book in this series is the best because everything is fresh and new。 It is a 5-star read。 Book 2 kicks it up a notch by moving beyond Florida to show the reach of the mastermind。 This book is very good and full of action and chaos。 Our agents race from scene to scene with their team often falling into bed exhausted。 This book gets a little bogged down at times with history and the numbers of characters and victims。 We need a few more of the breaks in the action like Amy and Hunter discussing a church wedding despite difficult incidence in the church。 That allows the reader to catch their breath before diving back into the action and high victim count。When we reach the conclusion and I will spoil nothing， it is crazy to think the depths someone will go to。 Heather does an amazing job of creating a despicable mastermind with no redeeming qualities。 Overall， I would recommend this book。 In the world today， with crossovers on both TV and in movies， I kept hoping for a crossover with the Krewe。Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC。 。。。more
